The project was sent to the competition “Living and Working in Tokyo” announced by the ARCHsharing group and chosen to be published in the book “Living and Working in Tokyo” by ARCHsharing.

The given task was to design a small scale building that had to fulfill two functions - commercial and residential. In the presented project the livingspace is situated within three storeys. The workspace, which serves as a studio is located on the last floor. It has outdoor stairs available from the street.

The communication within the living area is centered around a multifunctional platform, movable between two storeys. The platform not only enlarges the space inside the building, but also it can be converted into several types of furniture.

The four wooden slabs placed on the concrete platform can be put up to 20-40-60 or 80 centimeters. By modifying the height of each slab, one can create a space for preparing and eating meals, resting or sleeping.
